What are senior photos? To some, they are probably “just pictures”. Maybe they’ll be scrolled by on social media, or glanced at in an album, right? As a senior photographer based in Round Rock, Texas, my lens is the (lucky) one capturing the narratives of seniors like Sara. To me, senior photograph goes beyond just a few moments in time, but it’s about telling their distinct story. Sara, a senior at Brookland High School, is a dynamic individual involved in an array of activities both within and outside the school walls. From being a dedicated member of the BHS Swim Team and active participant in clubs like Beta Club, Art Club, and Students Standing Strong, to her involvement in the Nettleton Baptist Church and the Dart Frog Aquatics/SWAT Swim Club, this senior’s life is a tapestry of experiences that shape her world.
What sets this incredible girl apart is not just her involvement but her passion and strength. Rooted in a commitment to live by the golden rule: ”treat others how you want to be treated”, Sara exudes dedication and love for others. She is as beautiful on the inside as the outside! Her senior session is envisioned as a collage of diverse settings, from the greenhouse look and flower-filled fields to the charm of old bookstores, embodying the spontaneity that Sara brings to life. As I embarked on capturing her awesome style, her fashion sense emerged as a mix of comfort and style (love it!). From daily wear with band t-shirts and leggings to dressing up in cute jeans and fitted tops, Sara’s style mirrors her vibrant and versatile personality. Beyond the exterior, she also shared delightful anecdotes, from playful pranks with friends to her passion for 2000’s pop music, adding layers to the narrative of her high school experience.
