When you invest in senior portraits, you are purchasing more than just photos. It’s called an “investment” for a reason…it’s more than just a sale, both for me and my clients. So what are you paying for when you pay for a senior experience?

-The actual time and length of the session. Of course, you are paying for the shooting time and the length of the session you chose. This can be a wide range, and depends on the package or experience you have chosen.
-The equipment and maintenance/insurance: A photographer pays many costs, but one of the primary ones is that they are usually self-employed which means they pay for their own insurance, equipment, and maintenance of expensive cameras and lenses.
-Editing, retouching, and research: After each session, a senior photographer spends several hours culling images, selecting and editing the best ones, and making adjustments. This includes adjusting color, brightness, and making minor editing of blemishes or imperfections. It also covers their time researching new techniques and software, or scouting for the best locations in your area.

-Demand and competition: As you probably know, senior photography is a highly competitive industry, with many photographers offering similar services. The prices of senior photography may be higher in areas with a high demand for these services, as photographers may need to charge more to remain competitive.
-Experience and expertise: Most importantly of all, you are paying for the advice and experience of the photographer you are working with. They know how to pose you so you look and feel your best, and when the best time is to achieve that golden hour glow. They also know how to bring out your individual personality and showcase all the aspects of who you are.
Overall, the cost of senior photography reflects the time, expertise, equipment, and materials required to produce images that you’ll fall in love with. It’s hard to put a price tag on that, but we carefully consider what our price points are so that we can meet the needs of our clients. Please know our investment costs are well thought-out and ensure you get the maximum value!
