I enjoyed getting to know Jake during our pre-session consultation! I always have a consult with all of my senior clients, and it’s one of my favorite parts of this work. Knowing what they have in mind and what their goals are helps me design a shoot that they love. It can also help prevent miscommunications or unmet expectations and set everyone up for success! Jake is an accomplished athlete, and has been a competitive gymnast for many years. He also loves hunting and fishing with his family. He has a very fun sense of humor and is incredibly witty…I think you can see that come through in these images! Getting to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously always makes these sessions so much fun.
If you’re a guy or a parent of a guy senior, you may be considering senior photos. I know not every guy is super excited to have their photos done, but as you can see, it’s not a dry, boring experience at all. I have found that one thing that helps guys have an exceptional experience is bringing in things that they love, such as sports, musical instruments, or outdoor pursuits like hunting and fishing. With aspects of your personality to include, clients find that more of who they are is infused into their shoot. If you are unsure if you can include your hobbies or sports into your session, just ask! I’d love to walk you through the process and help you determine what will be best for you.
