Every photographer hopes that every client who reaches out will follow through and book with their services. I try to make a true connection from the moment a client inquires about a session with me, and it’s very important to me that every person feels valued and cared about during the inquiry process. But many clients feel overwhelmed at the idea of choosing a senior photographer, and I understand. Here in Texas, there are SO many artists to choose from, and if you’re not sure what you’re wanting or needing, it can feel like a tidal wave of options. You may be wondering how to know when it’s the right fit, and I wanted to talk about some things clients have said about the process, to help any prospective seniors/parents!

-If you’ve found the right photographer, you will feel comfortable: There is such a thing as a great first impression, and it’s very important! A great photographer will be proactive when you inquire, and won’t take weeks and weeks to send information to you. They will put you at ease by giving you the information you are asking for, such as pricing, appointment info, and how to book. Whether in person or over email, look for personable service and readiness to address any concerns you may have about the process. Look for “red flags” like caginess, inability to articulate what services they offer, and vague pricing that feels like they are hiding fees or not being forthcoming.
-If you’ve found the right photographer, you’ll feel excited and inspired! An amazing senior photographer will listen to your ideas and the things you have in mind, whether props or poses, and they will let you know exactly what you can expect or what won’t be possible. I particularly love hearing my clients share with me what makes them special or unique, and dream up ways to include it in their shoots (their favorite book, your letterman’s jacket, your cheer uniform, your horse or pet, your car, etc). I encourage my seniors to come up with any ideas they may have, and I always try to (realistically) incorporate them.
-The right senior photographer for you will acknowledge your budget and help you use it wisely: Knowing the price range you’re comfortable with is a big help when choosing your photographer. A good one will help you understand what is included in your session fee, and what prints and products are available to purchase. They will answer questions from you or your parent/guardian, and will also provide a timeline as to when you will receive your finished items or gallery. If you have pricing concerns, please let me know, so we can make sure we are the perfect fit before your booking! Know that senior photos are a true investment, and I take it very seriously so you receive the maximum value for your money!
-If you’ve found the right photographer, their style will match your vision: Whether you want bright, cheery images, or dark moody styling, you will want to look at the photographer’s portfolio before booking. Mine is available for you to view anytime on my website, and you can use it to get a good idea of my style, poses, and also editing. You want images that will look great with your decor (if you are going to want to hang them in your home), and that go with your desired aesthetic. If you have a particular fashion style that you are wanting (such as editorial or boho), please let me know that ahead of time, too! Every client receives my personal attention to all of the details!
If you are ready to book, please contact us! We can’t wait to see if we can be the photographer you’ve been searching for (PS, we think we will be!).
