Sometimes, photography can get a little too territ Sometimes, photography can get a little too territorial. Our locations. Our ideas. Our poses. Our clients. Everybody guarding their tiny creative kingdoms like someone’s coming to steal the crown. 😂

But here’s the thing…

You can put three photographers in front of the exact same girl, in the exact same dress, under the exact same sky…and I promise you’ll get three completely different stories.

THAT is the magic.

This weekend with Tishy and Cindy was such a reminder of how much I love creating alongside people I admire. Shoot a little, watch a little, share ideas, chase pretty light, laugh at ourselves (tons of this) and hype each other up when somebody nails it. 🙌🏻

No egos. No competition. Just three women seeing the world a little differently and loving that about each other.

Find those people. I’m so blessed to have a village of them (you girls know who you are 😜 FBF). The ones who inspire you without making you question yourself. The ones who clap when you create something beautiful and make you want to clap even louder when they do.

Then grab a model, go chase some light and PLAY.

Your camera might need it.

But I have a feeling your soul needs it even more. ❤️
Sometimes someone walks up, smiles at you, and wit Sometimes someone walks up, smiles at you, and within about three seconds you think, “Yep… she’s a special one.”

That was Grace.

I met her while tagging along on a creative trip with one of my dearest friends, and from the very first smile, I could tell she had such a kind heart. The sweetest spirit. Just genuine.

Then we started shooting… and she trusted me with every crazy idea I threw at her.

“Stand over here.”

“Lean against that giant pier.”

“Close your eyes.”

“Walk toward me.”

Not once did she hesitate. She was all in, and these images are proof of what happens when someone simply trusts the process.

And can we all just take a second to appreciate those legs?! 😂 Girl has been putting in some WORK. Wowzers! Thank you @grace.broussard9 for being so amazing 🤩
This year has already looked different for me. I’ve intentionally hit pause on some things so I can go all in on others… making sure I’m showing up for the people I love most while also making space for the parts of me that need to breathe again.

One of those things was taking this weekend to simply create.

No client work. No deadlines. No pressure to produce anything except whatever inspired us. Sometimes you don’t realize how empty your creative cup has become until you finally slow down long enough to fill it again.

When Cindy @cindyarthurphotography showed up with this dress, we all knew exactly where it belonged. The moment Willow stepped onto those steps, everything just clicked. These images are exactly why I needed this weekend.

Now… let’s also give credit where credit is due. Willow basically became a rotisserie chicken in this dress during the mid-day Texas heat and never complained once. 🥵😂 That’s commitment.

Thank you, Willow, for trusting us and making these images come to life. And thank you, Tishy, @tishyphoto for always being one text away from saying, “Let’s do it.” My heart and my creative cup are so full. 🤍
I cheated on my favorite lens this weekend. 😏 I cheated on my favorite lens this weekend. 😏

I almost never stray from my go-to lens (like… 99% of the time never), but I wanted to fill my creative cup this weekend, so I forced myself out of my comfort zone.

And now I have a problem… I think I’m developing a little crush. 😂

These were all taken with a lens that’s completely different from what I normally shoot, and I love how it changed the feel of these images.

Of course, Willow made my job ridiculously easy. She’s been one of our Rise Up Workshop models since day one, and there’s just something about her that has always inspired me creatively. Some people simply have that magnetic pull, and she’s one of them. Spending the weekend photographing her (while she and her AMAZING mom @mia_mcadams survived the Galveston heat from sunrise to sunset 💪) was exactly what my creative soul needed.

Can you guess which lens I used?
This weekend in Galveston was exactly what my crea This weekend in Galveston was exactly what my creative soul needed. 🤍 I had the honor of photographing some incredible girls, and Maci was an absolute dream to work with… so kind, so beautiful, and effortlessly graceful in front of the camera.

And then God showed off. 🌅 That sunset was one of the most breathtaking I’ve ever witnessed. Some moments simply can’t be planned… they’re gifts.
SOOC…This weekend wasn’t about client work. It SOOC…This weekend wasn’t about client work. It was about filling my own creative cup. 🤍

I didn’t realize how much I needed to create just for the joy of creating.

This year is going to be about slowing down, pouring into my family, myself and the people I love most. Sometimes stepping away is exactly what brings your passion back.

Just a little glimpse from Galveston… SOOC…Some images just don’t need editing. ✨
From the minute Ethan brought Ashley home to meet From the minute Ethan brought Ashley home to meet us, we knew he’d hit a home run. Blessed doesn’t even begin to cover it.

We’ve watched their love grow for years now, and it’s been one of the best things to witness. They complement each other so well. Ethan keeps the conversations interesting and on edge 😆 and Ashley is completely go with the flow, up for anything, and ridiculously funny, which might be my favorite part.

We’re counting down the days until we get to officially call her family. Who are we kidding, we already do.💕

Congratulations Ethan and Ashley. We love you both more than words.

Ashley, welcome to the craziness we call family. 😂
peace over control…. peace over control….
